This hemp and bamboo unbleached and un-dyed sweatshirt fleece fabric has a smooth side, jersey like, and a brushed, fuzzy side. It is soft, slightly stretchy, durable and extremely absorbent, and combines the benefits from both components. It is slightly lighter tone than the hemp cotton blend, and it does not carry the hemp specific scent.

It makes great clothing, such as hoodies, jackets, sweatpants, wraps, leg warmers or any other piece of clothing that require a heavier, but soft knit fabric. It is a great material for cloth pads or cloth diapers inserts or prefolds.

It dyes extremely well and softens with use. The eco-friendly aspects of both hemp and bamboo make this a truly natural choice for you.

Product Characteristics

Our hemp bamboo fabric offered for sale is a slim, soft, yet durable knit beyond absorbent. Both components are breathable, hypoallergenic and naturally antibacterial, making this fabric the ideal choice in cloth diapering, as it provides maximum comfort and security, being capable of holding the diapers through the night.

Wearing hemp clothing also promotes personal health. Hemp bamboo blends are both blocking the UV rays and are more mildew resistant than 100% cotton. In addition, they are thermal regulating, keeping you warmer in the winter and cooler in the summer.

Aside from the above mentioned reasons, one might also be persuaded by the fabric’s legendary strength. In fact, hemp is the most durable of natural fibers: 3.3 times more durable than cotton, but it is fully bio degradable, being one of the most recognized sustainable fabrics.

Our Eco-friendly organic fabrics are CPSIA compliant, meeting stringent standards by the U.S. Consumer Products Safety Commission on lead and phthalates and flammability. It contains no lead, BPA, phthalates or other harmful chemicals. Certificate can be provided when ordering.

Amazing fabric, especially considering the price!

I did a lot of research before purchasing this fabric. The quality and thickness is amazing, especially considering how much it costs to buy hemp and bamboo elsewhere. I’ve washed this a couple of times already and it gets softer every time. Take dye amazingly. Very impressed!

Love this fabric

I use this fabric in cloth diapers, inserts & soakers, and mama cloths. The mix of bamboo and hemp makes it very absorbent with the quick absorption from the bamboo and holding capability of hemp. It does shrink when first washed, but doesn't shrink any further. It is soft even when it's wet and safe to use next to baby's skin.

Cloth diaper inserts

I bought this to make inserts for my cloth diapers. It’s great! I made sure to wash it first to shrink it—it did shrink quite a bit, but I had plenty to work with still. I even rewashed it to test for more shrinkage and it stayed exactly the same after the first wash! It’s soft and very absorbent.

Great for cloth pads!

I used this fabric to make absorbent cores for my cloth pads and I am going to again for my postnatal pads. Its very thick so I don't have to layer up too much to achieve the desired absorbency. Also I haven't had any problems with it bleeding through the pad despite me not using any kind of waterproof layer beneath the topper, as I wanted to maintain the quality of breathability that these natural fibers provide!
